fluxbox install problem

i'd like to give fluxbox a try, and have just emerged it on a completely new gentoo install (only just configured x, no kde, no gnome, no other packages yet).

unfortunately however i cannot connect to fluxbox.sourceforge.net or any of the other xxx.sourceforge.net sites. it's been like this for many month. i've tried with different isps, differend domain name servers, everything i could think of, just doesn't work, can't connect.

i've tried to find enough info through google to get through initial configuration, but everything i found was pretty superficial and refering to fluxbox documentation for details. could anybody of you be so kind and send me setup/configuration instructions for fluxbox on gentoo, or a link to some instructions outside of fluxbox.sourceforge.net?

First, make the directory ~/.fluxbox. Then copy /usr/share/commonbox/init and /usr/share/commonbox/menu to ~/.fluxbox. That's all there is to it, as far as I know.

thanks a lot, scottro. all up and running. really helpful page.
just for further playing around though, would it be ok to ask you to mail me fluxbox's documentation? only if they have it organized in one or two bigger files though, if it's a whole bunch of smaller html files you'd have to download seperately than don't worry about it.

for their newbie guide--it seems to be working now.

i can't connect to any xxx.sourceforge.net site whatsoever. has been like this for many month. don't really know what the problem is. might be 'cause i'm in china. oh, well ...
