I've just done a new stage three install on a sparc station 20 and when I booted I was greeted with this repeated error:

modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module char-major-4
|
followed by
| Code: | INIT: Id "c3" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes
INIT: Id "c2" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes
INIT: Id "c1" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes
INIT: Id "c6" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes
INIT: Id "c4" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes
INIT: Id "c5" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes |
What's going wrong and how can I fix it? |

Do you use a monitor on it or are you looking on a serial console?
