It's still called Firebird and still has the old about window because the name and artwork have been trademarked. They say they did this to prevent consumer confusion, but now official builds and unofficial builds(such as gentoo builds) will need different names and artwork, which seems to only enhance the confusion if you ask me...
Also, somebody should check with them on whether we can even call the source ebuild "Firefox", as I understand it that violates the trademarks they say they'll be protecting.... |

What about the use-flags? Before installing fireBIRD I was told that one should use "-gtk" because of bad performance otherwise. Is this the same with fireFOX? |
It was -gtk2.
But anyway, I tried the GTK2 build from mozilla.org, and built my own with GTK1. I notice no difference. But then again, I haven't had any coffee then, so that might just be me. |
