Gentoo is running on a virtual machine inside Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 - great for testing _________________ Nothing is secure / Security is always a trade-off with usability / Do not assume anything / Trust no-one, nothing / Paranoia is your friend / Think for yourself |

I installed Gentoo for my friend on his new FX-53 w/ 2gb RAM. We played a little final fantasy on his Playstation and before we'd gotten far it was finished.
My brother who works in a research group obsessed with Sun Sparc servers has installed Gentoo on an eight way Ultra Sparc with 8gb RAM. It would only be faster for a few different tasks, none of which involve gaming, but it does sound pretty fast & expensive! |

I put gentoo on my two development servers at work.
Dual P3 1.2Ghz 3GIG RAM, 250GIG Disk, 1GIG network card.
Dual P4 (hyperthreading) 2.8Ghz 4GIG RAM, 220 GIG disk, 2 1GIG network cards.
I run VMware GSX Server and have Gentoo in most of the Linux VMs too. _________________ Life is too short and too important to { take seriously | use Windows }. |

Uh, dude, that's gonna catch fire You need at least 18" clearance on either side of it. |
