Depends on the game...
WineX can play games that Wine won't. The opposite is very rarely true.

Amazingly enough, I've had System Shock 2 run BETTER in Wine then WineX... despite a few errors but still. Anyways... WineX has run a majority of games that Wine couldn't but I'm still testing a variety of games... mainly $30 or less games but still.
