Setting path....

I was trying to extract a RAR file in Konqueror and I get a dialog box stating that "The utility rar is not in your PATH.". How do I add RAR to my PATH?

OK, can you figure out where the executable is, using epm, qpkg, or just looking at the contents of /var/db/pkg/app-arch/rar-3.0/CONTENTS?

rar is /usr/bin/rar on my system.

This must be a Konqueror / helper app configuration problem, then.

RAR, in my case, is in /opt/rar/bin/rar. I did do an entry for a helper app in Konqueror but I get the same error. I should note that the path error pops up in Ark and not Konqueror, sorry I didn't menetion it earlier.

Try firing up konsole and see if rar is in the search path.

Looking at rar's files it installs the required env updates in /etc/env.d and it should be added to PATH. So make sure /etc/profile is sourced in ~/.bash_profile and ~/.bashrc.

If you've just emerged it, try to relogin to get updated env vars.
