Hi!
My ISP switched his SMTP server to SMTP-AUTH in order to fight SPAM. I use exim on my laptop and the former SMTP server as smart host.
Now I have to use SMTP authentification. On the net there are several pieces of information concerning this topic. But all are for exim 3.X. The option authentificate_hosts does no longer exist.
Does anyone now how to configure exim to use SMTP-AUTH?
Thanks in advance!

Search the exim-users mailing list. There's a few hits there that should point you in the right direction.
If all else fails, join the mailing list and post your question there. The author of exim (Philip Hazel) is incredibly responsive on that list.

There is someone with the same problem who just wrote to the list. But he also uses v3. And it seems that everybody uses v3.
Ok! I'll write to the list!
Thx |
