Hi there,

I'm on a school project to develop a webcam 'alarm' system.

My idea was to create a mini-pc with just cpu (some motorola few-mhz processor), ram, usb and rj45 interface. The linux (gentoo, what else? ;)) should be on a bootable usb-stick or something like that. The OS should run a program to take pictures and send them via ethernet to a file-server or mysql database as BLOB.

Does anybody know if this is possible? And where I could get this mini systems?

thanks a lot

I would take a VIA C3 Mini (or nano) ITX with an C3 667Mhz. Nano-ITX is big as a CD Jewel Case. Look at via.com there are some of them. I've seen some Boards for 200€ (but with DVD-Combo).
