1. Ati
2. NVidia (gfx && nforce)

Perhaps as subcategories of /Installation, /Mutlimedia && /Hardware, always linked together, so it's only one time in MySQL?!

Or as a sticky post in both "For ati/NVidia questions go to /Installaiton/.."?

I think, a lot could be filtered out in "Installation", making it MUCH more clearly arranged...
It's very difficult to find some things out, that are NOT dependend on NVidia or ATI, because mostly threads are concatenated with one of them...

IMO it's quite important that anybody having an installation problem is free to post it.
I also doubt that it would encourage people to post their problem if they are forced to be #1743 in a sticky thread (because it's rather unlikely someone will reply to her/his issue in such an environment).
Since we are discussing such issues here - wouldn't it make sense to force anyone interested in screenshots to post in one of the sticky threads (please don't get me wrong - those "Gentoo desktops Feb 04 threads don't annoy me, but in this case I can't really understand why a thread is opened every month - would be more convenient to have one for everyone who's interested?).

Subforums are not possible with this version of phpbb.

I also think that a sticky thread would worsen the situation since there would possibly be many very different problems being debugged at once there.

Oh. Well, i thought, this is possible, saw it somewhere else. Of course you're right concerning a "sticky"-one, wouldn't help as should.

Only way i think, is a subforum. Is it possible with a newer Version of phpBB?

Yes. 2.2 IIRC. Unfortunately, development seems to be going slowly.

Good things come to those who wait. ;-) (Why does it seem like *all* the good projects develop slowly?)
