for some reason, the shutdown behavior of syslog-ng differs from the restart behavior. On restart, syslog-ng is stopped first, before eth0 is brought down. On shutdown syslog-ng is stopped after eth0 is brought down (this hangs), as near as I can understand, the example syslog.conf file makes syslog reliant on networking services. Is there a simple way for this newbie user to force syslog-ng to shutdown before eth0?
