Hi - I am trying to compare 2 config files using kompare. The files are only readable as root. I am logged into kde as a non-root user. When I su to root and run kompare (or any kde app) I get :
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified
kompare: cannot connect to X server :0.0
How can I solve this (aside from logging into kde as root) ?
Thanks. |

Does this work? Code: | $ su
# cp /home/thanksforfish/.Xauthority ~/
# kompare whatever |
Obviously, replace "thanksforfish" with whatever user started X. _________________ For every higher wall, there is a taller ladder |
