Hello,
I followed the instructions given on that page - the compilation of the kernel 2.6.1 together with genkernel worked fine but there's a problem with the bootsplash.
If I boot my machine with the grub parameter "video=vesa:ywrap, mtrr vga=0x317" or " spl
ash=silent vga=788", I see boot messages for a few seconds and then, the screen is black till the x-windows has been loaded.
So any ideas, ? What could be the problem ?
Also I don't know, where's the information (in which config file), which bootsplash picture is loaded ?
Is there anything more to do, that's missing in that howto ?
I'm using a Nvidia graphics-card and grub bootmanager.
Greetings,
