Unexplicable kde app (k3b, kportagemaster) compile failure

I kept running into problems trying to merge k3b and kportagemaster. it failed for no reason that i could see. at first i figured it was a problem with the new kde3 /qt3 releases.

but i finally realized that there was an error relating to authentication, so i tried logging into X with kde as the desktop, for root and my user. just a shot in the dark.

but it worked. now all of them compile properly

Thanks for the post. Since it's not really formatted in the style recommended for the Documentation, Tips & Tricks forum, in its current form I think it's better suited for the Desktop Environments forum.

i wasnt sure where to put it. i had noticed before i posted that the formating in the tips was a bit different. but i figured i'd send it there and see if anyone suggested a different place.

i have been using this forum for 2 weeks now since i installed gentoo. i had been using win2k since that AMD agp instability problem and i love it. really great friendly attitude. so i figured it was time to start posting and helping out the newbies
