i have the goty cd's and the 436 goty run file
i 'su' and login, then 'mount /mnt/cdrom' i then 'sh *.run'
the installer comes up, i start the install, but only after a few seconds i get a message that says the cdrom isnt mounted
if i click retry it doesnt work
your help would be appreciated |

after running the install you must specify where is your ut cd in your case
/mnt/cdrom
just open your eyes |

theres no option for that on the installer
i did try opening another xterm and tried to mount the drive
but i get a message that says its already mounted
fiy: i can ls the contents of the cd once i mount it |

you are correct there is no option.
I was waiting gentoo 1.4 to install, oh well
works fine for me |

try to
#cd /mnt/cdrom
#ls
do you see the files in your ut cd????? |

had the same prob a time ago
it seems that u need to export the cdrom dir before u start installing
eg:

export SETUP_CDROM=/mnt/cdrom
sh sh ut-install-436.run
