I have finally (5 days) managed to get mu grub configured and gentoo installed (YAY!!) Now I have emerged kde and waited 2 hours for the install of x and such, done my xf86config and gotten that to run. How do I get to KDE???
How do I get KDE to come up for my login (if thats possible) |

U could also add startx to ur .bashrc so X will start and then kde when u login. |

That's crap!! that file is read everytime you get a console/terminal. You have to make kdm the standard login manager (edit /etc/rc.d/rc.conf) and add xdm to the default runlevel, like so:
rc-update add xdm default
This way everytime you computer boot into Gentoo the graphical ogin screen will come up and you can login and start with whatever you choose.
Otherwise you can add "startkde" to ~/.xinitrc make it executable "chmod u+x ~/.xinitrc" and then whenever you start X using "startx" it will start KDE.
Read the Desktop Guide on the Gentoo site. It's all in there...
