I finally got to boot into Gentoo now what setup and such do I need to do to get to KDE and Gnome?

easy add startkde or exec gnome-session in your .xinitrc
if the file is not there add these lines:
PATH="$PATH:/usr/bin"
above startkde or exec gnome-session |

Before that, you wont to install kde or gnome with emerge kde or emerge gnome. |
