|
|
1) I tried a manual kernel compile, but I got a error when I had to do this command
# cp arch/i386/boot/bzImage /boot/kernel-2.6.11-gentoo-r3
Then I looked in arch/i386/boot/ and bzImage were not there. And I see that the kompiling showed a bunch of errors. then i tried a manual kernel compile again and got the same error.
2) The I tried to copy the .config from the livecd, then kompile it... It gave the same error again
3) Then unmerged, and reemerged gentoo-sources, then a manual kernel compile. Same error
4) Then I tried to use genkernel, and it (after some time) shows a error that says it were not able to find bzImage
5) Now I have tried to unmerged, and reemerged gentoo-sources, and then use genkernel and it shows 3 errors, that comes in this order (with some other lines between)
gcc: Internal error: Segmentation fault (program cc1)
make: *** [var/tmp/genkernel/15176.781.30070.9175/busybox-1.00-rt-mdstart.plasmaroo/coreutils/test/o] Error 1
Error: Failed to compile the "all" target...
Anyone knows what to do? what have I done wrong? _________________ Verdenen er min legeplads, gyngen er den bedste.

A segmentation fault is mostly caused by a hardware problem. So ..
1. Is your CPU overclocked?
2. Did you heave heat problems? (Check the CPU's temperature).
3. Check if your RAM is faulty (e.g. using memtest86+).
If still have those problems pleae use the forums search, since that problem was already discussed multiple times.
Best regards,

Sorry, I ment "heat" and not your head (Have changed it in my prior poste). Anyway, the main thing is that it works now. If the problem comes again please check for all the possibilities I've posted above and/or use the forums search to get more information.
Regards,
