Hello,
I want to backup my Gentoo on a tape. With other distributions I had a
/dev/nst0. With Gentoo I can't find it. I searched within /dev witch
other device I could use. As root I tried "mt -f
/dev/scsi/host0/bus0/target4/lun0/generic rewind". I got Permission
denied. I loaded the modules aic7xxx.o and sg.o. The Tape is found.
/proc/scsi/scsi looks like that:
Attached devices:
Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 04 Lun: 00
Vendor: HP Model: C1553A Rev: 9602
Type: Sequential-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02
Can you tell me witch device I shoud use, or how to get /dev/nst0.
Thanks

Installing Gentoo is intended to discuss issues related to the initial installation of Gentoo. Moving to ATG.
