Moved to General Linux.

/proc/kcore should be the same size as the RAM in your computer. It is not a "real" file, only an interface to the raw RAM through the filesystem, so don't worry about it taking up disk space. See Question 4.12 I have a huge /proc/kcore! Can I delete it? in the Linux FAQ.

to iterate a little more, anything in /proc is not really there, but more or less an interface of the kernel to allow userspace programs to see, and manipulate in some cases, data.
