when linux comes up it does not automatically start KDE:
whish configfiles should I change how?
when kde comes up by executing 'kdm', the screen resolution is always wrong.
after emerging the bash always tells to update a configfile:
where and how can Iupdate configfiles
please tell me which information about my system you need |

Probably /etc/X11/XF86Config-4

Thank you the configfile update problem was solved.
When I change to DISPLAYMANAGER=kdm, it starts like before and nothing special happens. |

Please refer to this to configure your desktop correctly. Please read the sections related to desktop managers, in particular.
