|
|
Hello,
Yesterday I installed the 2.6.0 from the gentoo-dev-sparcsources ebuild and compiled it on my SB100. But after that XFree stopped working.
I re-emerged but to no avail. It complains that it finds no devices. And indeed, when I do a scanpci it finds nothing. I then tried to run lspci but this complains that it can't read any info from /proc/buc/pci/00/.
I went to look in that dir and indeed, I have no 00 dir, it seems to be replaced by a 0000:00 dir.
Anybody got a possible solution ?
thx in advance,
Maarten. _________________ I never think of the future - it comes soon enough. (Albert Einstein) |

Same situation for me. A bit strange since i think i had it working at some time, but now after reinstall... am puzzled. lspci gets everything straight but xfree & scanpci see naught. |

You can also now emerge xorg-x11 which has this patch included. It only has the ~sparc keyword, so you may need to take that into account when emerging it. |

this patch only looks at first pci bus on the system, so for systems where graphics adapter is in a second pci bus scanpci will return only a bus controller.
the fix should be trivial - i should have it ready by 2morrow at home and will make it available on request. |
