I think I finally mucked through and got my proxmox gentoo VM machines booted again after the recent grub update. However, now my console looks like complete garbage:

Among the updates applied I jumped the kernel from 6.1 to 6.6. I assume the issue lies there, just not sure what to adjust or look for.

Not a huge issue as I use SSH 99% of the time to manage the VM, but it would be nice to have this working again. Any suggestions welcomed.

Got it.

For anyone else, edit /etc/default/grub and uncomment the following line:

Code:
GRUB_TERMINAL=console

Re-run "grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg" and reboot!
