Ich habe eben einmal nachgeschaut:
Unter /bin: @awk
Unter /usr/bin: @awk
Unter /sbin: @awk
Alle drei weisen auf gawk. Das Programm heisst sys-apps/gawk.
Nun die Frage: muss sys-apps/gawk deinstalliert werden, damit die Verbindungen von @awk nicht auf gawk weisen?
Ein ziemliches Gewirr - finde ich,

Zu den Änderungen an den alternatives gab es eine news. 2022-12-27-alternatives-introduction
Im Grunde gesagt umschreibt es die bisherige Problematik mit eselect awk und ähnliches und ändert das Vorgehen auf die app-alternatives/ Pakete.
Für dich jetzt wichtig:
Die Empfehlung geht raus in der /etc/portage/make.conf folgende Zeile hinzuzufügen, bzw abzuändern

und folgende Migrationsschritte als root auszuführen:

Das ist es dann auch schon und es funktioniert wieder.

Das stage3 ist vom 04.02.2024 stage3-amd64-desktop-systemd-mergedusr
Im Augenblick geht das Basis-Update durch: 143 Pakete (1 weniger: awk) . 46 Pakete sind bis jetzt installiert.
sys-apps/gawk habe ich nicht deinstalliert, weil ich darauf kein + oder - als Antwort bekommen habe 
Wen awk-4 im Moment ausgeklammert ist, werde ich am Ende sehen, ob es nachträglich installiert wird.
Ich bin mir sehr bewußt, daß ich im Moment kein stable, sondern unstable installiere, daher bin ich keineswegs
frustriert oder geschockt, sondern aufmerksam und zuversichtlich, wie sich die Prozesse entwickeln.
Jetzt sind wir bei 58 Paketen, meine Zuversicht wächst.

Ok, merged-usr
damit solltest dann aber auch ein merged-usr Profil verwenden.
Laut der emerge --info ist aber
default/linux/amd64/17.1/desktop/plasma/systemd
(das ist das alte split-usr) gesetzt. Das wird so relativ sicher in die Hose gehen. |

das System ist so (ohne viel Aufwand) wahrscheinlich nicht mehr zu retten. Da du noch ganz am Anfang der Installation bist, würde ich vorschlagen noch mal frisch (diesmal dann mit passenden Profil) neu anzufangen.

Das ständige stumpfe Neuinstallieren bringt halt leider keine Vorteile für die Verwendung und für das lernen von Zusammenhängen.
Neue Konzepte allerdings auf unterschiedlichen Installationen auszuprobieren oder zu verwenden schon.
Das ist auch etwas was dir schon mehrere male hier gesagt wurde. Nicht dass ich nicht Verständnis für deine Situation habe (Alzheimer, Gedächtnisverluste dadurch, und so weiter) aber es fällt mir schwer zu verstehen wie du regelmäßig eine stumpfe Neuinstallation als Sinnvoll erachtest. Zugegeben, ich bin noch lange nicht in der Situation um genau nachvollziehen zu können was Alzheimer mit einem macht. Ich habe die Effekte davon an meinem Großvater damals beobachten können (lange bevor ich überhaupt mit Gentoo oder davor mit SuSE angefangen habe) aber schwierig ist es für mich schon.
Ich hoffe du kommst als nächstes zum erlernen von Konzepten und zum einstudieren von Umständen.

Ich freue mich sehr - nicht nur in meiner Eigenschaft als User, sondern auch als Moderator - über die vielen deutschsprachigen User hier, die nicht nur ein enormes IT- / Gentoo-Wissen haben, sondern zudem auch sehr hilfsbereit sind. Bei dieser Gelegenheit möchte ich einmal Danke an Euch alle sagen.
Ich schreibe jetzt diesen Post wieder nur einmal zur Erinnerung an unsere Forenregel Nr. 9 => Problemberichte sollten detailliert ausfallen.

Ich selbst war ganz früher mal im IT Support und mein Lieblingsspruch war: "Eine exakte Problembeschreibung ist bereits die halbe Lösung".
Das bedeutet:
1. Was wurde gemacht ?
(z.B.: Installation bis zum Schritt X; letztes Kommando: "emerge Y"; vorher: ABCDE...)
2. Wie äußert sich das Problem - wie sieht das Problem aus ?
(z.B. Fehlermeldung: Z; Schwarzer Bildschirm; Abbruch bei ...)
3, Welches System - verwendete Software / Versionen ?
(z.B. Intel i3; Mainboard: XYZ; 4 GB RAM; anbei Ausgabe von "emerge --info")
4. Sollten weitere Informationen, spezielle Dateien (Kernel .config) oder Ausgaben von bestimten Abfragen ("lspci -nnk") benötigt werden, wird sicherlich danach gefragt werden. Man muss also nicht gleich alles nur irgendwie erdenkliche liefern 
Ich möchte heute auch noch etwas ergänzen: Habt doch bitte etwas Geduld.
Ja, wenn nicht sofort eine Antwort kommt, sollte man wirklich nicht einfach weiter probieren ... und noch mehr kaputt machen ... 
Und das folgende möchte ich ebenfalls Usern ans Herz legen die ... Wer vergesslich ist (so wie ich) kann ein Logbuch (z.B. simple Text-Datei) führen, wo man alles exakt notiert, was man gemacht hat. Dies hat nicht nur für einen selbst den Vorteil, dass man nachsehen kann was war, sondern man kann dies dann auch ganz einfach per Copy und Paste in einen Problembericht reinkopieren. Ich habe letztes Jahr meine neue Kiste installiert und habe das halbe Log sogar mal temporär (*) ins Wiki gestellt: https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/User:Pietinger/temp/delete_me
Hätte ich ein Problem gehabt, wo ich Hilfe benötige, hätte ich genau sagen können, was noch funktioniert hat und wo etwas schief gegangen ist.

Du hast in diesem Thread sehr gut Nr. 2 beschrieben (komplette Ausgabe von "Failed to install app-alternatives/awk-4") und später mit Nr. 3 ergänzt (emerge --info; "Das stage3 ist vom 04.02.2024 stage3-amd64-desktop-systemd-mergedusr"). Leider erklärt das alles nicht, wie ein falsches Profile eingestellt werden konnte. Hätten wir ein Log, könnten wir Dir möglicherweise sagen, dass z.B. Schritt "eselect profile set X" falsch war ... Bei Problemen brauchen wir mehr Sachinformationen. Außerdem gilt immer: So kurz wie möglich - so ausführlich wie nötig !

Hallo zusammen!
Ihr werdet es nicht glauben: ich habe einen neuen Anfang begonnen.
Keines der stages mit mergedusr, sondern das letzte vom 10.12.2023.
Und nun ist das Basis-Update mit 213 Paketen bereits bei 171 ohne eine einzige Unterbrechung.
Mein Fazit: die neuestens stages sind offensichtlich für die herkömmlichen Pakete nicht friedlich.
Ich habe beschrieben, wieviele Pakete plötzlich bei der Installation unterbrochen haben.
Und jetzt funktioniert das Basis-Update komplett. Paket 171 ist llvm. Etwas zeitaufwendig.
Meine Zufriedenheit übersteigt nun alle von mir bisher gemeldeten Fehler, die mich etwas angespannt gemacht haben.

Ist mein Post hilfreich für mich (weil ich ein Problem schildere) oder hilfreich für andere (weil ich eine Lösung / Idee habe; oder etwas dokumentiere) !
Rückmeldungen sind eigentlich auch immer erwünscht ... außer man macht etwas, was neue User nicht nachmachen sollten: Eine veraltete Version installieren. Normalerweise funktionieren alle aktuellen Gentoo Stages einwandfrei und ich bin überzeugt, dass die derzeitigen Stages nicht die Ursache des Problems waren.
Persönliches sollte eigentlich auch die Ausnahme sein ... und wenn schon dann bitte nicht hier im Support-Bereich, sondern im Diskussionsbereich (aber auch dort nicht permanent).

Es ist mir vollkommen klar, dass dieser Thread sehr viel enthält, was zu diesen letzten Meldungen geführt hat.
Ich gebe zu, daß meine Thread-Formulierungen nicht immer sehr klar waren.
Wenn es wieder einmal ein Problem geben sollte, werde ich mir sehr viel genauer überlegen, wie ich es formulieren sollte.
Was noch wichtiger ist: ich sollte erst im Forum nachschauen, ob das Problem schon vorgekommen und beschrieben worden ist.
Am Ende bitte ich sehr um Verzeihung für meine Fehler im Formulieren.

Guten Tag, liebe Gentoo-Freunde!
Ich habe am Ende dieses Threads noch eine Frage (wichtig!):
Offensichtlich habe ich bei der stage mit mergedusr das falsche Profil ausgewählt, nämlich Nr.10.
Eben habe ich mir die Profile noch einmal angeschaut und dabei entdeckt, daß es neuerdings Profile mit mergedusr gibt.
Nun meine Frage: welche Nummer muss ich - wenn es um unstable geht - genau wählen eselect profile list, eselect profile set ...?
Muss ich nicht Nr.10 wählen? Und das war mein Fehler, wofür ich mich wirklich schäme, vor allem in diesem Thread.
Sondern Nr. 11?
Ich wäre sehr dankbar, wenn mir jemand noch die genaue Profil-Nummer für unstable nennen könnte, vor allem mit mergedusr.

Nachtrag: als ich eben eselect profile list eingegen habe, war neben Nr. 13 ein blauer Punkt - ist das also das passende Profil?

Das "stable" im Profil bezieht sich nicht auf das keyword "stable"/"unstable", also "amd64"/"~amd64", was du meinst. Du kannst ein "stable" profil mit "~amd64"/"unstable" verwenden.
das zu dem von dir verwendeten Profil "default/linux/amd64/17.1/desktop/plasma/systemd" gehörende merged-usr profil wäre "default/linux/amd64/17.1/desktop/plasma/systemd/merged-usr". |
