Ich habe diesen Bug gefunden, denke aber, das ist etwas anderes. Bei mir läuft das eine ganze Weile bis zum Abbruch....

Dein "PORTAGE_TMPDIR" ist auf /tmp gesetzt, was wohl ein tmpfs ist.
Wenn du net-libs/webkit-gtk baust und es fehlschlägt, sollten die Dateien noch herumliegen. Falls nicht, solltest du "PORTAGE_LOGDIR" setzen, so dass die Logdateien "überleben" (siehe man 5 make.conf).
Ich tippe jetzt einfach mal, dass es ein Platzproblem ist. Entweder ist dein /tmp zu klein oder dein Arbeitsspeicher reicht nicht.

Das kommt vom gesetzten EMERGE_DEFAULT_OPTS="--fail-clean"

Hmm, make.conf habe ich schon länger nichts mehr gemacht.... kann mich nicht mehr erinnern, warum da was steht.

Kannst Du mir das bitte erklären? Das verstehe ich nicht, bin nur "user"....
FEATURES=fail-clean ist wegen drin (Da habe ich sogar einen Kommentar eingetragen. Manchmal klappt das ja) . Sollte ich vielleicht besser wieder entfernen, oder? Vermutlich wäre ein script mit cronjob besser zum aufräumen.
Danke auch für den Hiwneis auf die neuere Version. Die 2.42.1 ist für amd64 noch masked. Sollte ich das trotzdem versuchen?
USE=-jumbo-build beschleunigt das compilieren, oder? Ich habe (aus eienr anderen Diskussion mit firefly meine makeopts niedriger setzt, weil qtwebengine über mangelnden Speicher gemeckert hat:

Speicher kann immer noch ein Problem werden. Wenn das build Verzeichnis 8-16 GB belegt, dann hat das system nur noch 16GB frei für die build Prozesse.
Und bei vielen parallelen builds wird auch entsprechend viel RAM benötigt (Bei Webkit). Daher kann ich mir vorstellen, dass bei -j9 dir der RAM ausgehen wird.
Daher nutze eine reduzierte Makeopts für net-libs/webkit-gtk oder verlege das portage temp verzeichnis auf einen Datenträger.

Zu "-j9": Als Faustregel kann man 2 GB pro make-Job rechnen. Wenn du 32 GB RAM hast, gingen ja alleine fürs tmpfs 16 GB weg. Von den verbleibenden 16 GB würde ich einfach mal 2 GB fürs Betriebssystem und Programme wegrechnen. Also blieben noch 14 GB fürs Bauen übrig, was dann "-j7" bedeuten würde.
Zu "jumbo-build": Ein aktiviertes "jumbo-build" braucht mehr RAM, sollte aber schneller sein. Ein deaktiviertes "jumbo-build" wird weniger RAM brauchen, aber dauert auch länger.
Was genau hat geklappt? Das bauen mit 2.42.1? Oder das Bauen mit "USE=-jumbo-build"? |

Hi uhai,
genau dieses Problem hatte ich auf einem System auch. Minus Jumbo-build ist wohl kein gutes Useflag für webkit.
Daher es am besten setzen und die -j Flags für langsame Systeme anpassen. Schade um die Zeit, aber wenigstens war es gratis-Erneuerbare Energie bei mir.
Achso der Fehler lag definitiv bei dem weg lassen vom "jumbo-build", so wie ich den Bug verstanden hab, zog das Make-Script wohl diverse Build-Abhängigkeiten, die bei der Verwendung von -jumbo-build wohl fehlten und so zu einem Abbruch führten.
Wir leben gerade in einer Zeit wo man froh sein kann wenn es klappt und sich überhaupt jemand um den Code kümmert. Daher ist das ok, auch wenn es gründlich betrachtet eine Fahrlässigkeit darstellt. Doch wo keine Tester:in oder eine Community, da keine Kläger:rin. Gerade diese Blob-Monster will doch Niemand optimieren.
