Yes, kind of...
Yesterday after "emerge world -u", I've noticed that nautilus wouldn't start anymore. After looking around I found that gail 0.16 version was updated to 0.17. And nautilus wouldn't start without the 0.16 version. After downgrading, nautilus wouldn't start without 0.17 version. So now I've got two versions of gail, which is very confusing for portage, because it's trying to unmerge the old one every time I do emerge -c.

cd /usr/lib
ln -s libgailutil.so libgailutil.so.16

It doesn't work...
:( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( ..etc
Even with nautilus 2.0.2, it doesn't work anymore.
I send a bug to gnome.org. Perhaps they will save me.

I hope for the gnome 2.0.1, this problem will be solved.

What about unmerging all versions of gail and nautilus, then emerge nautilus?

I think this is the response you've got on the gnome forum
Quote:

run nautilus from a console and post the output

also run
Code:
killall nautilus; nautilus
and if there is anything interesting post it.

And when exactly does it crash - randomly, consintently etc...

So, what's the output?

I have just been doing a new install this weekend. When I went into start here traversed into the "Other" application menu to investigate why the gcombust launcher failed (incorrect filepath). I edited to the correct path, on closing it crahes the "Other" menu directory. restarting nautilus, recreating the "Other", adding a launcher again = same problem.

Any ideas?

I find the problem, pango (?) can't render some types (Truetype) I use on my desktop.
I have the problem only with artistic fonts.
Before Gnome 2.0.1_rc1, I didn't have the problem.
