hi guys and gals-\
I downloaded the 16mb gentoo iso but i had an issue with my eth0 module so i decided to get the other iso. SOOOOOOOOO........
I'm downloading gentoo-i686-1.2.iso right now but i notice the package management is src. Now i have expreience with tar.gz and .rpm but not src.
what are the commands and what not to install with src packages?
If someone could tell me what to do that would be great. |

src where have you seen that
Gentoo's portage downloads sources files for packages (usuall tar.gz or tar.bz2) compiles and installs them. See the Portage use guide for more information. _________________ There's someone in my head but it's not me - Pink Floyd |

The larger iso only contains stage2 and stage3 tarballs, saving you setuptime (You dont have to compile all the basic stuff). You eth0 woes will not be solved by the larger ISO. Both use the same boot kernel/modules. Whats the problem with your networking? |
