Install "seems" to work perfectly. When I run this, all the files are placed in the right spots:
Quote: | GAMES_CDROM="/path/to/ut" emerge unreal-tournament -k |
When I try running "ut" I get these messages, which I have not been able to find duplicated anywhere I look:

Hopefully there's someone out there that has seen these errors before and can help me.
Thanks,

make sure you turn on all applicable cdrom options in your kernel, especially joliet and transparent, ut uses one of those in the cd and won't read it right unless they are selected _________________ "I am the reaper among sheep.... I am the ravager of all things that go baaaah!!!!!!" |

I no longer have my UT CD--but I had copied all the files from it, thankfully--so I tried running the installer like this:
Quote: | # SETUP_CDROM="/path/to/ut" sh ut-install-436.run |
It still asks me to mount the CD, though. Also, I don't know the exact version that I'm trying to install. I can run it in wine kind of, but the window gets cut off so I can't check for the version from there (unless there's a console command..). When starting UT with wine I see that it has the large, squarish loading screen with the UT logo in the center and "Unreal Tournament" below it. Which version has that?
Anyway, I'll keep hacking at it.
Thanks,

I eventually got UT to work. I had to borrow somebody else's CD though. If anybody else has issues like this, I guess I recommend just trying to use somebody else's CD.
Thanks everyone,
