Ok folks, I'm a little boozed here and I should really be going to bed for work, but this little tidbit came to mind and I thought some fellow geeks might get a kick out of it.....

I have this friend named....'A'....or so we will call her (ooh, so secretive)....anyways, my friend 'A' is by no means knowledgeable about online things...she uses AIM and IE...thats pretty much it....So, 'A' as it happens, is also very into spinning (record spinning...like Fatboy Slim or something....) and she had (when this happend) gotten into online forums about spinning. So, here is 'A' posting away to all these spinning forums and she keeps seeing people tossing up acronyms like IMO and IMHO and she has no clue what they mean. Now, I gladly would have told her, but naturally she wanted to ask the people in the forums what the hell IMO and IMHO meant. So, of course, she asked away and lo and behold, she got a not-so-straight answer...

IMO = Interested Males Only

Or so they told her.....so, people are using IMO left and right, responding to all these posts and quite frankly not making sense with thier IMO's......her first thought was "gee, there are alot of girls in this forum".....tsk tsk tsk....So, given the IMHO's all over the place...she had to ask...

IMHO = Interested Male Homosexuals Only

Off she went...."holy crap, its a damn swingers forum!" she says......

She totally went with this nonsensical information for about 2 months before she finally got so confused she had to ask me "WTF IS WITH THESE PEOPLE?!?"....needless to say, when I heard the crap they had been feeding her, I laughed my ass off.....

So, a not-so-well told story of my friend 'A' who is not so familiar with the lazy acronyms that we all hold so dear.

gnight folks.

-Tom
