Anyone else have any problems doing this? In particular, I've run into trouble with my Sara McLachlan "Surfacing" CD. 10 music tracks, and the 11th is data. Tracks 1-9 are fine, but track 10 doesn't 'finish' creating the .wav file. This is the only thing I've found similar. Although I use Grip, I'm not using cdparanoia (the user in the link is). I've been using cdda2wav. I've not turned up much else. Anyone else run into this? Or better yet, anyone have a solution?

| well there was that trick all over the news using a black permanant marker and running alone the outside the of the disk.. blocking the last tract (data) track which kills the cd from being read.. i've also heard of people useing tape to cover up that data track as well.. i haven't baught any of the new cd's in a while.. just nothing worth a dam in my opion to get a the moment.. hope this helps.. |

I'm not certain thats the issue in this case. The data track actually contains junk you can use with a computer. I may boot Win2K and see if it has any problems.

| I know that my CD player (kscd) used to do some funky things w/ audio CDs w/ data tracks on them. Like, it would over-report the length of the last track by however long the data track was, but it would always stop at the correct point, anyway. Have you tried using cdparanoia yet? Perhaps explicitly setting the track length would work. I'll try an audio/data CD when I get home . . . |

If I read the link I posted earlier correctly, cdparanoia will work. Possibly doing as you suggested. cdparanoia doesn't find any useable drives on my system though. I suppose I'll have to investigate that. *sigh*
