kernel panic when trying to run "jstest /dev/input/js0&

Well, as said in subject. I get a kernel panic when trying to run "jstest /dev/input/js0" on my newly acquired USB Wingman Rumblepad.

The cause is most propably related to this message in dmesg:

hub.c: USB new device connect on bus1/2, assigned device number 2
usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout
input0,hiddev0: USB HID v1.10 Joystick [Logitech Inc. WingMan Rumblepad] in usb1:2.0

I had one boot where this message didn't appear, and that, oddly enough, caused the Rumblepad to work perfectly

I can't figure out exactly what the problem is...
