Is there any tool in linux to grab video+audio data from the miniDV tape to the PC under Linux? Any help is appreciated.

yes, you have to enable ieee1394 drivers for your kernel, then use dvgrab to transfer everything to your harddisk: http://www.schirmacher.de/arne/dvgrab/
