I've just visited the Statistics page of this forum and I've seen that the gzip compression is OFF.
Doesn't is better to use it?
(It's in the Administration Panel -> General Admin -> Configuration)

gzip compression will save disk space but wear down on the CPU more as far as I know. More CPU usage is the last thing the forum server needs these days. _________________ http://ckdake.com/ |

I was thinking that gzip compression was used between the db application and the disk. I don't know how it could be used between the db app and the webserver or between the webserver and the client without requiring lots more cpu on the server. _________________ http://ckdake.com/ |
