Gentoo on Ultra-10, error emerging VNC, xfree, ttmkfdir

Did a stage 1 load on an Ultra 10, everything went fine.

I then tried to emerge VNC, it failed with:
"imake: command not found"

Next I tried to load XFREE. It failed compiling ttmkfdir 3.0.9-r1 right at the start.

After speaking to the fine folks in the IRC group, I was told about a bug documented as 32565. The short and long of it is this:

rm '/usr/lib/gcc-lib/[architecture]/3.2.3/include/stdio.h' or rename it.

Then re-emerge XFree. Although this happened on a SPARC 64 build, it sounds like it might happen with other architectures as well.
