mpf...I deleted a lot of files...too much for my system ;) I deleted my "world" and "system" file...is it possible to recreate it? My whole system in working, but e.g. emerge -Up world is not longer working :(

greate...thx a lot! And what about regenerating the "system"-file? I didn't found anything about a "regensystem" in google or this forum :(
so...maybe I've to create it "with my hands"...mh...can someone send me his/her emerge-system-file?

Your system files should be in /etc/make.profile/ which should be a symlink to the directory which corresponds to you're architecture in /usr/portage/profiles . If the symlink is correct the post above should fix your problems.

mh..ok...emerge -Up system didn't return anything but emerge -Up system --deep seems to work...but before I deleted my world file there where much more results... :confused:

so...thx a lot...
