Jagged MS Courier fonts in Mozilla

I managed to turn off antialiasing for "normal-sized" fonts in Mozilla (ebuild 1.0-r4), but now I have a new problem. Now Microsoft's Courier font looks terrible and all jagged when not antialiased (read at not any font size 17pt or larger). So far, this seems to be peculiar to Mozilla. Neither xfontsel nor Gimp's file dialog have a problem with the MS Courier font. No other MS fonts seem to have problems, either.

Has anyone else encountered this problem? Any further files to tweak or ebuilds to try?
