1. I assume the fstab file was a file that i was supposed to type out, right? I did becasue I typed hte command and it said it was a new file, so I prodceed to ype it out.
2. When I type "passwd", it says access is denied
3. Installing grub works, but after I quite and try to access the menu.lst file in "boot/grub/" it says
"Could not open the file for writing: No such file or directory"
and this after the grub setup says it created the directory
so what do I do..kepp in mind I DO NOT know my way around a kinux box...so babiesh ridicule is accepted..as long as I get help..in the end  |

Are you sure you are chrooted to the target root directory?

It probably created the grub directory somewhere else (e.g. the root directory) due to an error. Do you have /boot mounted as a separate partition or is it just a directory off your root directory?
