Monitor Standby problem

I have another either small problem, my monitor wont go on standby under kde it worked and always works in the bash, but not in kde. I installed apmd and apm ist fully configured in the kernel. And i turned pm on in kde, does anyone got a clue?

by "enabled pm in KDE," do you mean you checked the "Enable Display Energy Saving" box in the Control Center's Power Control -> Energy window? And set standby/suspend/power off timers?
