To find available drive space:
Code:
df -h

"df" will do. -h makes it "human readable".

"top" will show you memory usage, both physical and swap.

Understanding what the output means is another issue. There was a thread around somewhere for that too...

Thanks guys!! I'm having some Quake 3 Performance problems in Native Linux, and i'm trying to track it down... and it's also nice to make sure i won't run out of space soon aswell.. =)

Alternatively if you're running KDE and would like something a bit easier to read...

Control Centre-->Information-->Block Devices - Free drive space
Control Centre --> Information --> Memory --> Free swap / memory

'free' might help too :)
If you really want to learn, checkout the /proc directory. it can give you every info you want...
