I heard that you don't need scsi cd-rom emulation anymore, is there anything specific you need to include in the kernel so you can burn cds? or do you need to change anything in actual gentoo? |

Nope... Only remember to have the IDE/ATAPI CDROM Support enabled.
I've been able to record as I've always used to (using ´cdrecord dev=/dev/hdd´ instead of whatever I used before). |

Yeah, it works great, just enable the usuall stuff, compile and you can use IDE burners Should work with 2.4 too, if your more comortable with a stable ver. |

using cdrecord to burn in ATAPI mode, you use "-dev=ATAPI:0,0,0" i believe. For 2.6, this doesnt work, but temporarily "-dev=/dev/hdc" works fine. I've been using it for a while. _________________ --
