emerge rsync not working , no network in gentoo enviroment

Help ! installing over REDHAT 7.3 on a laptop. I have no network when I go inside Gentoo enviroment. Any suggestions? Can I download onto a cd and reconfigure to download from their? If so How? Thanks Scott

What have you done so far? Has the install completed? Did you get network access during the install? If the install is completed, it is very likely that you didn't compile support for the correct network card into your kernel.

emerge rsync #10 in the installation instructions. I guess i need to copy the portage tree to my HD.
