I'm gonna reinstall gentoo this night and I'm wondering. Stage 1 is bootstrapping and stage 2 is just emerge system. If you're starting from stage 1 like I am going to do, is it possible to run both automatically? Either by executing the two commands in a script file or perhaps by scripts/bootstrap.sh && emerge system ?
This way I don't have to wake up in 2-3 hours to just enter one command and then go to bed again. |

Yeah I do this as well. I think they should mention this in the install docs myself. |

The actual installation is like, three commands that just take forever, and then a bunch of smaller stuff that you actually have to configure. It's not too bad, and making a script for it would almost make it harder, I think (although more user friendly, that's for sure). |
