The mkboot program that shows up in std sparc installs is useless, it needs lilo and makes an unreadable floppy (to the prom.."unable to find sun disklabel"). I've forgotten how I used to make boot floppys from about 5 years ago.

Got a HOWTO (for Sparc!) or a package ??

Most sparcs can't boot from a floppy. There's a rather fun OBP bug that makes it impossible on any semi-non-ancient box.

You must mean new sparcs, all my sparcs have been thru floppy boot many times....I just have forgotten the technique, apparently nowdays no one learns it.

In any case, SPARC Gentoo should drop the useless mkboot amongst others...

The technique in the silo man page works and all parts are available via portage.
