I reverted to the state of my system previous to the attempt at installing midori.

The /etc/portage/package.{use,mask,unmask,{,accept_,}keywords,license} and the /etc/portage/make.conf are back at the state they were previously in.

Introspection is back in the make.conf as banned: `-introspaection', and webkit-gtk and libsoup lines are removed from package.use.

I ran:
Code:

emerge -C dev-libs/gobject-introspection net-libs/libproxy net-libs/glib-networking net-libs/libsoup

which uninstalled the 4 packages that webkit-gtk needed before its failed install.

And I removed:
Code:

ukrainian ~ # ls -l /var/tmp/portage/net-libs/webkit-gtk-2.4.8-r200/
total 20
drwxr-xr-x 2 portage portage 4096 2015-03-07 22:51 build-info
drwxr-xr-x 2 root    portage 4096 2015-03-07 22:50 distdir
drwxr-xr-x 3 portage portage 4096 2015-03-07 23:55 homedir
drwxr-xr-x 8 portage portage 4096 2015-03-07 23:55 temp
drwx------ 3 portage portage 4096 2015-03-07 22:50 work
ukrainian ~ # du -sh /var/tmp/portage/net-libs/webkit-gtk-2.4.8-r200/
595M   /var/tmp/portage/net-libs/webkit-gtk-2.4.8-r200/
ukrainian ~ #
ukrainian ~ # rm -rf /var/tmp/portage/net-libs/

Also ran:

Code:
emerge -tuDN world

Code:

These are the packages that would be merged, in reverse order:

which reinstalled these packages, with different (restored, as previous to the midori install attempt) use flags, fine.

So, the system is (following later confirmation if needed), back at the ready for cleverer try. Javascript browser still missing, but not urgent.

Would need to check the solutions offered and pertaining to the Firefox and Google related topic (link given a few times already). Or check how to use `links -g' as jonathan183 suggested (less urgent --no Javascript), but not now. I think I'll go back to see if I can do something about the lurker issue.

Don't know. Only know the system will likely remain ready for more trying and checking how to keep it non-poetterware infected.
