[solved]no sound KDE build-in audio

I have no sound at all using my built-in audio. the speakers work elsewhere. I have never had audio problems with other distros so I don't know where to begin troubleshooting. I used system settings to test the device but alas no sound at all. I am using OpenRC and KDE. can someone help?

a reboot did the trick. but thank you to whomever may have been workin on this for me.
