hdmi connection gives large fonts on desktop, (RESOLVED)

Just changed a dvi cable to use hdmi. Fonts are huge. nvidia-settings says resolution is 1920x1200. Good, that is what is should be. It says it has a vga connection??? Xfxe setting, reports the same resolution, but describes the monitor has being 7". I'd like to know that the hdmi cable can be made to work. Does anyone have any idea? Thanks,

Just noticed this. I think problem was fixed, but am no using a different monitor which works fine.
