I messed up some gnome settings and cannot figure out what is the problem . So I want to restore gnome's default.

In ~ directory , can I delete .cache .config .gnome2 .local etc directories directly ?
After I delete these directories and logout & login again , will gnome restore its defaults ?

Thanks

Yes you can delete those directories, but note you lose all your settings.

If you know which settings you messed up you can use the dconf editor and use the "reset" option.
