I'm using ati-drivers, and in OpenArena I find that the display adjustment settings have no effect at all on the actual display brightness. The game is by default too dark and the gameplay suffers because of this.
Is there a solution to this? I haven't tested with the open drivers but they are not an option for me anyway.
There appear to be numerous posts on this issue from the past, e.g. http://openarena.ws/board/index.php?topic=3699.0 however they appear old and none offer a solution for me. |

Not sure if it's acceptable for you, but I tend to simply use monitor's menu to change active gamma profile. Usually it's leanear when I want to have good colors and "dim" one when I do something with text, so it doesn't hurt my eyes, but I can also light up the darker areas with yet another mode when I need it. Should do well for "too dark video games" as it boosts contrast there by a huge factor |

Not applicable, but thanks for the suggestion. |
