andsmb client and gentoo smb host

Greetings,

I've setup two smb shares from my gentoo server protected by username and passwd so any windows box on my net can access it.

I was able to easily configure a windows 7 starters box to access it but I'm not able to configure andsmb on my wife's smartphone to work with, infact every single app that claims to support it doesn't work, I get connected failed.

have anyone been able to do that?
