Had this problem on some plasmoids with other distros. Only difference with Gentoo is one of my Plasmoids was working but not after kernel upgrade+reboot. I now keep getting could not create this object for the following reason: script initialization failed. Always seems to be Python widgets that do this even with the python bindings installed. Awful hard to troubleshoot with no apparent logs. Help?
Well it seems the one that stopped working did so due to exclusion of the userspace cpufreq driver, which it needs to grub cpu frequency info, apparently. Found the error in .xsession-errors. Seems the one I could never get to work just won't due to outside factors, that is Pyweather due to Google quietly shutting down their weather api. Found the failure in .xsession-errors as well. Total suckage, I always wanted to try that one based on nice looks and strong reviews. Lol would be awesome if somebody was able to mod the .py scripts to use another API. I tried changing the url which killed the error, but left the weather blank as I am not a coder and would have no clue what else to change. |
