Hi All!
Gentoo seems very nice - I have to try it!
If I install now, everything will be compiled with gcc 2.x, right?
When the next version comes, it will use gcc 3.x. Will there be an automatic "recompile everything" options? Will it work? I not too crazy about doing such things myself...
regards,

Someone correct me on this. _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |

I've read on several occaisions that people have done a 'world' and everything wasn't upgraded. For some reason, not everything was in the /var/cache/edb/world file. Thats why I didn't mention it. _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |

Well, right, dependencies aren't listed in the world file. However, the end packages are, so the -e will rebuild all of the dependencies... assuming the USE variables haven't changed much or at all, life should be good. _________________ I don't believe in witty sigs. |
